SPR Rendering is a Sydney based solid plastering and cement rendering business. We render houses, granny flats, front fences, retaining walls, bathrooms, feature walls and commercial buildings, using the right system for whatever the wall is actually made of.

That last part matters more than most people realise. Brick, block, blueboard, Hebel and hundred year old sandstock all behave differently, and putting the same render on all of them is the single most common reason a wall fails a few years later. We assess the substrate first and quote the system it needs.

We cover Sydney metro, from the Eastern Suburbs and Inner West through to Penrith, the Sutherland Shire and the Hills District. Every quote is free, done on site, and comes as a written fixed price.

02Why SPR

Most render fails for
avoidable reasons.

Nearly every failed wall we get called to failed because someone skipped preparation, used the wrong system for the substrate, or rendered over a problem instead of fixing it. We do it the long way, because the long way is the only one that lasts.

  • We tell you what is actually wrong

    If your wall has rising damp, or the drainage behind your retaining wall has failed, or sixty percent of your render is drummy, you will hear it from us before you get a price. A cheaper quote that ignores the real problem is not a cheaper job.

  • The right system for the substrate

    Brick, block, blueboard, Hebel and old sandstock all need different products and different mixes. Using one approach on all of them is the most common reason render fails in Sydney.

  • Licensed, insured and local

    A current NSW building licence, public liability insurance and workers compensation. We are a Sydney business working Sydney jobs, not a call centre subcontracting to whoever is free.

03How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

Most people have never hired a renderer before and have no idea what is meant to happen. Here is exactly what the job looks like from the first phone call to the last sweep of the driveway.

  1. Free on site quote

    We come to you, put a hand on the wall and sound it, and work out what it actually needs. Not a price over the phone based on a guess. You get a written scope and a fixed price.

  2. Preparation and protection

    Scaffold where the job needs it, everything masked and sheeted, and the substrate properly prepared. This is the stage that decides whether the render lasts twenty years or two.

  3. Render and cure

    Two coats, applied by hand, worked as a continuous wet edge so there are no visible joins. Then we manage the cure rather than letting a summer sun dry it out too fast.

  4. Texture, colour and clean

    Your chosen texture grade and colour, applied consistently across every elevation. Then a full clean down and every bit of rubbish off your property.

There is no honest per square metre answer, because the wall decides it. The biggest factors are the condition of the substrate, the height of the walls and whether scaffold is needed, how good the access is, and how much preparation has to happen before any render goes on. Bare brick in good order is the cheapest thing to render. Painted brick that needs stripping, or failed render that has to come off first, costs considerably more. That is exactly why we quote on site rather than over the phone, so the number you get is a real one for your job. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.
